Economic History

Welcome to one of the world’s largest departments of Economic History

The department has about 50 staff members engaged in research and teaching. The department offers high-quality courses ranging from the undergraduate to the postgraduate level taught by experts in the field. Research represents a major feature of the department’s activities, funded by both the state and external sources, and the results are continuously published in books and in leading international peer-review journals. The integration of teaching and research, and the substantial share of externally financed research, give unique possibilities for learning.
